TRI possesses qualified staffs, of which 40% have Master’s or Doctoral degrees. There are one Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, several prominent experts and principal scientists nominated by the State or Zhejiang Provincial Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

    TRI began to enroll postgraduates for master’s degree on tea science since 1982 and to enroll graduate students for doctoral degree jointly with Zhejiang University since 1987. TRI was approved as the empower institution for doctoral degree on tea science since 2003. The postdoctoral station was set up in 2003.
